I am currently writing a book about the history of Branston and wonder if anyone has any knowledge of the railways around Branston ?. I do already have a lot of information already and I am particularly interested to find out more about the sidings, the connection to the Branston Depot, the signal box, although other information would be welcome. - [Burton Model Railex 2024](https://burtonrailwaysociety.co.uk/burton-model-railex-2024/): Following the success of our first venture at the Rolleston on Dove Scout HQ, we are pleased to announce that the Rolleston Scout Building has been booked for our secomnd annual event on​  SUNDAY 8th SEPTEMBER 2024. ​The exhibition will be held on the two floors of this building, and we are anticipating an excellent day featuring a number of local layouts, and relevant trade attendance.  Open 10.00 until 16.00. Further details can be obtained from chriseatoncj@gmail.com or at the next clubnight.​ Tickets can now be purchased online by visiting the Rolleston Scout website, on www.rollestonscouts.org.uk/tickets.
- [Annual General Meeting 2024](https://burtonrailwaysociety.co.uk/annual-general-meeting-2024/): The AGM of the Society will take place on THURSDAY, 28th MARCH 2024 at our usual venue, Marstons Sports and Social Club. Start time is 19:30 hrs, and please bring your membership cards. A short film/slide session will follow at the end of the formal meeting. All members should make the effort to attend: it is your club and this is an opportunity for you to have a voice.

It has a certificate of authenticity. Its is in a dark wood frame size 28″wide by 26″ and is for sale. If necessary it can be delivered locally, locally but if further afield buyer collect. If delivery required price is £28, if buyer collects £25. If interested , contact committee member Chris Eaton on Club night to liaise with the seller.
- [Great Central Memorium Day for Mark Ratcliffe](https://burtonrailwaysociety.co.uk/great-central-memorium-day-for-mark-ratcliffe/): Organised by Pam Ratcliffe, a nunber of Society Members, along with friends and members of the family, gathered at Loughborugh Central station on Sunday 30th October, for a “farewell ride ” to clebrate the life of Mark, and for his family to perform a final farewell as his ashes were dispersed from the loco, 48305 (one of Mark’s favourite classes), at Swithland reservoir. Pam had organised a charter coach for the party, which was revealed as the Observation Saloon attached to the rear of the 12.50 departure. He was ably supported by Dave Richards who filmed the demonstration so that it could be viewed on the large screen. ​David announced that his Horninglow Wharf project would now be completed as a diorama rather than in layout form and for this session he concentrated on buildings.
